I love the idea of New York forming its own country, but if it goes, I want to go with it. Can't the Empire State secede, and not just The City? I recognize that there are problems with this-- big parts of New York State are Red State places, but that is true even of the five boroughs. I mean, Staten Island? (Actually, what does it mean that the place in New York that are the most Republican are the ones with the fewest people? And hey, isn't that true about all the States?)
