I don't think I have mentioned that CLA is doing the
Adirondack Canoe Classic, '90-Miler' with my Boilermaker pal Wendy. It's this weekend, and we are going with them as their pit crew. Wendy did it last year with her brother Jim, and had a fine-- if grueling-- time. A big take-away was that an equipment upgrade was in order, so this time they are renting a lightweight Kevlar canoe. Both Wendy and CLA are in excellent overall condition, and they have been refining their technique the past couple of weekends. It should be an interesting adventure. I'm particularly impressed by CLA, who started her summer with a 13.1, and is finishing it with this. She rises to a challenge nicely .
