We watched the Joan Baez documentary, I Am A Noise over the weekend, and it was not at all what I expected. Very dark, focusing chiefly on failed relationships and a startling claim of abuse at the hands of her father. She is proud of her voice, and should be prouder of the civil rights and social justice work that has been the hallmark of her career. There have been plenty of times when I've thought Ms Baez was a bit hard to take, but she's always walked the walk, and I respect that.
